These terms and conditions define the terms of use which are effective when you are using this website or our affiliated journal websites (collectively, “Websites”), which are operated by Modestum DOO (registered in Serbia with registration number 21816485; TAX number 113171519; Serbian activity code 58.14; office at the address Bulevar Zorana Đinđića 125D, sprat 1, stan 12C, 11070 Belgrade, SERBIA) and its subsidiaries (“Modestum”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). You should read these terms and conditions, along with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy carefully before using the websites. Please note that the stated terms may be subject to change without prior notice. By accessing or using any part of the websites, in any manner, whether as a guest or a registered user, you agree that you have read and accept the existing terms of use and privacy policies at the time of your visit. If you do not agree with any of these terms, please refrain from using the websites. 

Intellectual properties

We are the rightful owner of the content displayed on websites. These materials, including but not limited to text or images, such as journal policies and cover images, or their derivatives or translations thereof, are protected by intellectual property laws, and therefore not permitted to be copied, used, distributed, transmitted, disseminated, even in part, without our prior consent. 

Unless otherwise stated, copyright of the articles published on websites are retained by the authors and distributed with a permissive common creative attribution license allowing everyone to download, use, copy, distribute, transmit, or adapt them, even for commercial purposes. We reserve the right to remove any content that is, in our sole discretion, objectionable, offensive, fraudulent, infringed, or inaccurate.

While Modestum takes reasonable steps to ensure that the content of the websites is accurate, up-to-date, and uninterrupted, the content is made available “as is” and “as available”, without any guarantees or warranties of any kind, expressed or implied, whatsoever. The use of content is at your sole discretion and risk. Access to the content may not be uninterrupted and error-free. Offensive use

You must access and use the content of our websites for their intended purposes only. Any attempt to introduce technologically harmful material such as viruses, trojans, adware, etc. to adversely affect the websites, or to attack the websites, or to gain unauthorized access to websites will be considered a criminal offense punishable by applicable law and will be reported to related authorities. We disclaim any unauthorized access, alteration, or loss of information resulting from such a breach.

Statements for payments via credit card

Our website facilitates payments by credit cards. We utilize third-party payment processors to process credit card payments. By making a payment by credit card through the applicable payment processor, you agree to be subjected to the terms, conditions and privacy policies of the payment processor in addition to this aggrement, and that you are responsible for the accuracy and validity of the payment details provided.

Exchange rate statement

All payments will be effected in Serbian currency – dinar (RSD). The amount your credit card account will be charged for is obtained through the conversion of the price in Euro into Serbian dinar according to the current exchange rate of the Serbian National Bank. When charging your credit card, the same amount is converted into your local currency according to the exchange rate of credit card associations. As a result of this conversion there is a possibility of a slight difference from the original price stated in our web site.

Statement on the protection and collection of personal data

On behalf of MODESTUM DOO we undertake to safeguard the privacy of all our customers. We collect only required, basic data on customers/users and the data needed for operations and informing customers in accordance with good business practice and to provide good quality service. We enable our customers to opt if them want or not to be removed from the mailing list used for the purpose of marketing campaign. All the data on the users/customers are kept strictly confidential and are available only for employees that find these data necessary for operations. All employees (MODESTUM DOO) (and business partners) are responsible for observing the principles of privacy protection.

When typing in the payment card data, confidential information are transmitted by means of public network in the protected (cryptic) form using the SSL protocol and PKI system, currently the most- up-to-date technology. The security of data when making purchase is guaranteed by the payment card processor, Chip Card ad Belgrade,, thus the complete process of collection is performed on the Chip Card’s site. The data on the payment card are at no moment available to our system.

VAT information

Prices displayed on our website may or may not include Value Added Tax (VAT). Where applicable, the appropriate VAT amount will be added during the payment process. You are responsible for complying with any VAT obligations that may apply to your purchases and ensuring the accuracy of your VAT-related information.

Reclamation policy

In the event that you encounter any issues with our services, such as incorrect billing or technical difficulties, please contact our customer support team. In the event of a reclamation request or chargeback, we reserve the right to investigate the matter and request additional information or documentation to assess the validity of the claim. Any reclamation requests must be submitted within the specified time frame and in accordance with the applicable procedures. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the denial of the reclamation request.

Refund policy

Article processing charges are requested from authors of accepted articles and shall be paid before the article is published on our websites. Once the receipt of the article processing fee is confirmed, the article is immediately moved to production and publication. We attach importance to providing a fair, responsible, fast, and responsive service to authors. We may issue a refund only if we are unable to publish the article due to our own mistakes, such as inability to prepare the galley proof or to publish the article online. After the article is published online, no refunds will be issued. In case it is required to return the funds of the collected funds to the customer, in full or partially, regardless of the reason for the return, MODESTUM DOO shall return the funds exclusively through VISA, EC/MC and Maestro method of payment, which means that the Chip Card/Bank will refund requested amount to the customer’s account, following a request of the Merchant.

If you have any complaints, issues, or concerns regarding your payment or our services, please contact our customer support team. We will make every effort to address your concerns promptly and efficiently. You can contact publications@modestum.co.uk in case of complaints or cancelling order.

Modifications

We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms at any time without prior notice. Any changes to these Terms will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of our website or services after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
